Who is Buy The Way?

We at Buy The Way are a new Online Shopping store in South Africa that looks to provide a large array of products to you at great prices with as great service delivery as we possibly can.

How Can I Register With Buy The Way?

There are two very simple ways to register here at Buy The Way. The approach is slightly different when you are on a mobile device (tablet/smartphone) and a PC (laptop/desktop).

  1. Click on the ‘User’ Icon on the top bar (which looks like a shadow image of a person’s head and shoulders) – for a PC, similarly on a mobile device you can click the top left menu icon and select “My Account”. From here you can enter your email address and select whether or not you want to receive a newsletter. You will then receive an email (please check your spam) with your registration details i.e. your username and password.
  2. The second method is at the “Checkout” point. When your details are required to calculate the shipping value to you. You will need to enter in the necessary details and will then automatically be registered. You will again receive your login credentials i.e. your username and your password.

How Do I Buy Products From Buy The Way?

  1. Browse through the store to find what you are looking for
    1. You can use the main “search bar” at the top of the screen to quickly find specific items.
    2. You can browse through categories and subcategories and apply the necessary filters to find what you want.
    3. You can query our live chat support to find you what you want from Buy The Way
  2. Now Add it to your “shopping cart”
    1. When viewing multiple products, you can hover over a product and “quick add” the item using the “plus” icon on the bottom left of the item.
    2. When viewing a single product, you can select the quantity that you require and click on the button “Add to Cart”.
  3. “Checkout” your cart
    1. You can hover over/select the shopping basket icon at the top of the screen and click on “Checkout”
  4. Enter/Complete your Shipping details
    1. Finalize your shipping details as to where you would like delivery on the product(s) that you have ordered
    2. Select the method of shipping from the options available to you.
  5. Make Payment on the Order
    1. Click on the button labeled “Proceed to Paygate”
    2. You can pay with one of the following – Mastercard, Visa, Masterpass, VISA Checkout and SiD Instant EFT.

Do you offer COD?

At this time on Buy The Way, we do not offer COD, unfortunately. This is due to the stage of business that we are in. We attempt to offer you as many options as possible to best serve your needs.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your credit card will be charged after the successful placing of your order and the approval of your card. If there are any problems, you’ll hear from us.

How do I pay using Masterpass?

MasterPass by MasterCard® is a free digital wallet service that makes online shopping safe and easy by storing all of your payment information in one convenient and secure place.

Getting started
1. In order to pay using MasterPass you must have the MasterPass App on your smartphone. The MasterPass App can be found at:

2. Activate your phone

To secure your device for MasterPass payments, the App will send one SMS. Your normal mobile network rates will apply. This will only happen once.

3. Setup your MasterPass account

Your MasterPass account will allow you to save contact and billing information securely on the MasterPass system.

4. Add your bank card to your MasterPass account

You can add credit, debit, or reloadable prepaid cards from MasterCard, Maestro and Visa.

5. You are now ready to shop on the website with MasterPass by MasterCard

How do I pay using MasterPass?

Once you have filled your cart with awesome products and you’re ready to check out, simply choose to pay using Paygate. From the you will need to select Masterpass from the options list. We’ll then send you over to the MasterPass payment page.

If it’s your first time using MasterPass:

  • You will be asked to select your country of residence and language
  • Then you will be asked to select your wallet

MasterPass will present a code on screen. Use the MasterPass App on your smartphone to scan the code and authorise your payment.

Once payment has been authorised you will be returned to takelot.com to receive your order confirmation..

What is SiD Instant EFT?

SID Instant EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) has been one of South Africa’s most trusted online payment methods since 2007. SID allows South African e-commerce merchants to receive secure online and mobile payments directly from their websites to their bank accounts.

SID facilitates hassle-free online payments by linking shoppers directly to their Internet Banking, pre-populating the payment details and directing them right back to the merchant’s website, where they then receive instant payment confirmation. Bank-level security, such as one-time PIN verification remains in place during the SID payment, thereby ensuring complete protection.

Is SiD Secure?

SID uses the most advanced security features available on the Internet and although SID invokes your Internet Banking service, it does not access or store your Internet Banking identifier or password. These are entered directly into your Internet Banking log on screen using the usual security provided by your bank.

How are my details kept secure (SiD Instant EFT)?

Your bank account access information such as usernames and passwords are not captured or stored by SID or the merchant website. One time PIN (OTP), Random Verification Number (RVN) or access token provided by your bank is still required.

Your session occurs directly between your PC and your bank in the same way as if you had logged into your bank’s Internet Banking system separately from any SID transaction.

SID just automates the process of filling in all of the payment details for you.

SID may store your bank account number for refund purposes. However, no third party can access or operate your Internet Banking facilities based on this information, or any other information retained by SID.

You have two different options when it comes to shipping your order.
The first is courier service – wherby we will use our courier partner Dawn Wing to courier your order to your door.

Can I change my shipping address?

Yes you can. For this you will need to go to your account and find ‘Addresses’. You should change your “Shipping Address” details.
Once an order is placed you cannot change your details. Our courier partner Dawn Wing will contact you via SMS and phone to find the best place and time to deliver to you.

Do you ship outside South Africa?

No. At this time, Buy The way does not ship internationally anywhere outside of South Africa.

What if my order is not correct when I receive it?

You can contact us using our information on our homepage or go to https://buytheway.co.za/contact and send us a message so that our team can inform you what is required ASAP.

How can I track my order?

The first thing for this is you should receive an email with your “Waybill” number. Using this number you can go to www.dawnwing.co.za and enter your waybill number at the top of the page so that you can see where the order exists.


Can I cancel my order?

Yes you can absolutely cancel your order. There are simple conditions for this, the order must have not been shipped in order for you to qualify. If it has already been shipped and you still do not wish to receive this order you can contact us for a return (check our refunds policy).

How do I cancel my order?

If you have not yet made a payment for your order, you can browse on your account to orders and select the “Cancel” option. If you have already made the payment and your order has not yet been shipped you can email or phone us directly in order to cancel and get your order refunded.

You are responsible for packing the product safely and securely for return to ensure against damage in transit. Please include the return reference number in the parcel so that we can easily identify your return.
